As the comic shows, senior stress is real and I'm already seeing some of that among my students. Remember, I am here to help you through it, but that is also why we have presentations designed to help get students and parents on the same page with all of the college application steps and to guide students through the process.
Seniors, tomorrow night, Thursday, August 31st at 7pm in the Auditorium is the Student & Parent College Information Night. If you are planning to apply to college this year, I'd strongly suggest you attend the presentation. It's even better if you can also bring your parents to the meeting with you.
For those seniors who missed out on the 2 Common Application Workshops that we held earlier this month before school started, we have decided to add in one more session next week on Thursday, September 7th at 7:45am in Room 207. If you are applying to college using the Common App and haven't alraedy attended one of these sessions, I cannot stress enough how helpful it will be for your application process if you join us that morning before school for this workshop. Be sure to bring your chromebook or laptop so you can work on your own Common Application during our time together.
And then for Sophomore and Junior students and parents, don't forget that if you have not already signed up to take the PSAT, the deadline is next week, September 5th at 3:20pm. As a reminder, the PSAT will be held at WKHS on October 10th. The PSAT is available to 10th and 11th grade students free of charge and it is the test that, when taken junior year, can help you qualify for National Merit Scholarships.
