Tomorrow kicks off Worthington Kilbourne High School's REACH week for Disability awareness. Each day will have a theme inviting all Kilbourne students and staff to wear coordinating attire in an effort to demonstrate that we all are unique, have gifts to share, and that by standing together we can support and encourage those with various disabilities.
The highlight of the week will be on Friday which is the Disability Awareness Day. Students will be able to wear their REACH shirts (available on sale during lunches all week) and more importantly, you will have the chance to go down to the gym during lunch periods in Friday to try to do simulated activities that mimic what it would be like to do that task with a disability. It should be both fun and an eye-opening reminder of the challenges that some of your peers face every day at WKHS.
Below are the color themes so that you can participate in supporting this important effort:
Monday: Autism - Wear light blue
Tuesday: Down Syndrome - Wear blue and yellow
Wednesday: Blindness - Wear white
Thursday: Mental Health - Wear Green
Friday: Disability Awareness Day - Wear REACH shirt
If you missed the video about REACH week on the school news last Friday, be sure to check it out!
